The Starting Point

Hugo Inc is a BPO company that helps teams scale faster with world class customer support and AI data solutions.

When they came to us, they had a solid brand and some really good content.

But there was one thing that was holding them back.

They weren't ranking for the keyword BPO Company.

Hugo Inc actually had two pages that they created around the keyword "BPO Companies". But neither were in the top 30 at the time.

After working with us, we helped them rank a piece of content to position 3 for the keyword "BPO Companies."

The Result

Ahrefs estimated the page was getting about 900 visitors per month. And while I don't have the revenue numbers for this page in particular, we find that these types of pages have approximately a 2% conversion rate.


Step 1: Identify Search Intent

The first thing we had to do was identify which page we thought would have the best chance of ranking.

One page was a service page. The other page was a list post.

But after we analyzed the SERPs, it became incredibly clear to us which one we should build links to if we wanted to rank for this keyword.

Step 2: Ensure Post is Structured for Conversions

With a list post, one of the most important things that you can do is make sure that your post is put at the top of the list.

We've tried various positions, but there's a very clear drop off from the first position to the second position. And from the second position to the third position.

We've also found that VERY few people actually read past the third option.


Step 3: Build High Quality Links

Now that we had an amazing, in-depth post, it was time to build some powerful links.

We have a very specific link building criteria:

DR 60+Only high-authority domains.
Minimum of 1,000 organic visitors per month
Only links on other SaaS sites or Service businesses
Sites that don't produce spam contentand rank for keywords related to their topic.

We also make sure that we mix in branded anchor text along with relevant anchor text around the keyword.

We find these links to be the most powerful types of links that we can acquire. A handful of the right links, relevant, high-authority, on sites your buyers actually read, does more than dozens of links from irrelevant directories.


Step 4: Monitor Results

We only had to build about 10 high quality links in order to get the content to rank in the top 3.

And things happened fast. Within the first thirty days, the content was on page 2.

By the end of the second month, page 1.

And by the end of the third month, it was in the top 3, getting 850 visitors per month.
